Choose one scent and stick with it. Use candles at least once a week and while cooking. Use carpet powder every time you vacuum and spray the deodorizer in the morning and at night. Also if a plug in is available that can help. Vanilla is the strongest scent to get and easily available
you can buy an oil ring that goes around light bulbs in your house. You fill it with your favorite oil, and when you turn on the lamp, the heat disperses the scent around the room. If you want something quicker excellent ancient fashioned incense permeates really well.
if you have whole house air or forced air heat there are jars of concentrated scent made to place in the duct just behind the filter and it will scent the whole house as your a/c runs it also has a anti bacteria in them to reduce mold and mildew you should find this at your local plumbing supply or furnace supply
You can use eucalyptus branches as decor. They are have natural oils in the leaves that smell nice but not perfumy. The fresher the better. The scent lasts longer than any artificial fragrance dispenser. As the scent wears off, you can just pinch a leaf or snap it in half, and it will help to renew the fragrance.
The plug-ins use electricity, so I wouldn’t encourage the manufacturers by purchasing them. Sprays don’t last very long. Oils on a light bulb ring would be the next-best thing, but the eucalyptus branches are my favorite.
I use candles and Lavender potpourri in dishes around the house. I have heard that the plug in types have caused fires so I stop using them….
Buy candle warmers! It will release the smell all over the house.
