Your wedding day is definitely one of the most memorable days of your life. It is one of the happiest days in a woman's life if not THE happiest. So, it is a must that you look your best on that special occasion. Many photographs would be taken on that day and surely, you would want your beauty to shine and be captured. For that reason, makeup application for brides is a little different than the average. Proper application of the foundation and concealer, eye make-up, blush and powder and lipstick should be ensured to bring out the beauty of the bride.

Applying the right foundation helps a lot in adding glow to the skin. To enable the makeup to glide evenly, begin with a primer to fill in the pores and lines. Use a light moisturizer and allow it to sink in for at least 10 minutes before applying the foundation. Avoid using thick moisturizer prior to applying the foundation as this may not lead to positive results. Try applying your highlighter over the moisturizer and under the foundation to create an additional glow. For brides with oily skin, apply an oil-free foundation or something that says non-comodegenic on its label. Remember to look for a foundation that is closest to your skin color. As for the concealer, use something with a dry consistency.

The eyes are the reflection of one's soul. For your wedding day, you want your happiness to be reflected through them. Proper eye makeup gives additional staying power and glamour as well as light to your face. To achieve that, use a liquid liner and apply it by dotting between the lashes and smudge it with a small brush. Set the look by covering the liner with the right eye shadow powder. You can highlight your eyes more by using a thin line of white eyeliner on the eyelid. After you have added the color, keep your eyebrows up with a clear eyebrow gel or mascara style brush that is spritzed with hairspray. Waterproof mascara is the right choice if you want to be free from streak-stained cheeks and raccoon eyes. Just like with the foundation, the color of the eye shadow must suit the color of the skin.

Start with a cream blush if you have applied cream or liquid foundation. Dust it using a translucent powder and then go with a powder blush. For a longer staying power, try layering your blush. Blush tends to fade first so try choosing more darker and more saturated blush colors. However, you would not want to look clownish on your wedding day so look for colors that match the color of your chest, fingertips and palms.

Use pencil to line and fill in your lips. Also, before applying any color, smoothen the foundation on the edges of the lips. Apply your lipstick by brushing it on, blotting with a tissue and then reapply. Bright lip colors are not advisable for brides since they tend to smudge them most.

As the bride, you have the right to be the center of attention on your wedding day. Having the right makeup application is one of the steps to achieve that.
